hey, i am new to the whole reef aquarium thing. i got a piece of live rock a while back, and i think a bunch of snails hitched a ride on/in it. they are tiny, gray, oval shaped, and look fuzzy at first, and now i have about thirty of them. will my tank be overrun with them? are they a problem or am i just being a paranoid rookie? thanks for any help.

It's very hard to ID snails by description only since there are so many species. But what I can say is for the most part (and I mean vast majority), gastropods are harmless in reefs. I honestly wouldn't worry much about them.

Are there hard shells? By fuzzy, what part is being described? Any possibility of pics? It would help in guessing what these guys are.

having snails reproducing in your tank, if they are, is usually a good thing- as they will keep your tank tidy!
