YELLOW TANG

My Yellow tang has a thin white stripe on both sides and a brown patch behind the white stipe // any idea on what this is???
75 gl. tank fish only
please help me !!!!!



2 tang on it way out in 4 days

the white line is visible when the lights are out on yellow tangs... are you seeing this with lights on or just off or right after they come on? if it is when the lights are off, that is perfectly normal. what does your last line say? 2nd tang you're about to lose in 4 days?

I can see the White line when the light is on or off // But the brown patch now that i think about it // its only when the light is off.

i bought a tang sun and it was dead by mon tue.

I bought a diffrent one last nite

is the fish acting okay, is it eating well? if it's eating and acting normally, then i wouldn't worry.

Hey Franks2Yanks, can you take a picture of it and post it? That would really help. Take a picture with no flash and the tank light off and then one with it on.

My yellow tang has a fairly broad and faint white line along his back.

When the lights go off, after about 10 - 20 minutes, the white line gets brighter and the brown blotch begins to appear.

I call it his 'pajamas'. Ha!

Actually, I think this is their camouflage, so that they may blend in with the nighttime rocks better and lessen their chance of becoming a midnight snack for something else.
