Dang! I don't seem to be having any luck. I browse and the right address is inserted. I make a comment for the picture and click add attachment. Nothing happens!

1st guess would be yes... - Along with a lot of valonia...

Any way you can get a pic that's panned back a little? (Wider angle, not so close up..?)

Thanks, thats what I kind of figured. I had intended to use the sand in this tank for my refugium that will be on my new 120. Bad idea, I suppose?
It seems to me that the sand would be infected also.
thanks
Don

How I got rid of my aptasia...

1 TBS boiling water
1 tsp Calk mix
1 syrenge w/needle

In a glass container, boil the water in the microwave. Immediately mix the Calk and take in ~ 1-1.5 ml into the syrenge.

Turn off your current and lay a nice little ball of calk mix (it doesn't take much) directly in front of the mouth of each individual aptasia. Try and get as close as you can before it tries to close up. You will see it take in the mix, and close. Presto...no more aptasia. At least until the next one pops up  You can reboil the mix to keep it nice and hot. The combination seems to work nicely.

I haven't seen any ill effects with this method. Then again, I never had an outbreak like yours. You might try doing a few at a time per day and keep an eye on PH, Alk, and calcium levels.

i had a few larger aiptasia, but not too many.
so i injected them, and all of the sudden i have lots and lots of little ones,
they have even gotten into the skimmer and on my powerheads.
when you inject them, and they come apart, do the little pieces that
dont get sucked out by filtration grow into a new anenome if they latch
onto something? lately i've been taking the rock out and put it in
a small bucket, do my injecting in there, and shake the rock vigorously
underwater to try to get all fragments off the rock before i put it back in the tank. havent started the large rocks yet.

Wow that looks definatly like aptisia! Get the kalk and a needle out. I have had great results with mixing heavy amount of kalk with water and using a needle to inject the potion. Aptisia shrivle to nothing and break into many pieces never to be see again
