It moved onto the hob filter I have on the drop down tube and tried to go into the tube through the slits. The cover thats on it has vertical slits on it. All but about 3 or 4 tentacles are gone. It was 2.5 inches in dia. I had to cut the slit thing off of it. Now it looks like the shape of a pizza with 1 or 2 slices cut out. Will it grow back? I put it in a hob container and put it close to the 36 watt pc, bout 3 inches, to get more light if it needs it to regenerate. I dunno if it will live or if it will die and I would like your opinions or if you have heard of it coming back after something like this.

If your thread title is literally true, then the answer is "of course not."

Sorry but the situation sounds pretty grim to me too. They are very subject to getting bacterial infections even without major wounds. Keep an eye on it and remove it at the first signs of decay so it doesn't pollute your tank.

I have heard of them coming back after such traumatic episodes as being cut in two, even my own has suffered serious injury and grew back to become the monster that it is now. I would just hope for the best, chances are you might get lucky if your tank conditions are right.

What kind of anemone is it? I've seen BTA's come back from horific injuries. If it's a BTA and all else is in good standing I bet it comes back.
