What do you use for your substrade ? It looks like you have cc for your bottom. Do you intend to use DSB for your next tank ? Which salt do you use ?

It has been a long time since I have posted. My 320G & 180G were sold off in 2005. I had to get out of my favorite hobby because of travel/work. I am getting back into it (now that I am retired at age of 70) and I have placed an order for a 500 gallons starphire tank that should be arriving in 8 weeks. If anyone is still on board that knows who I am please feel free to contact me as I am interested in good sources for LR &LS that I will need now to setup in my old 150g refugium so I am ready to use when the tank arrives. l will also need to know about best sources for frags, corals etc. preferably from hobbyist or someone who is taking down his setup.. Any info will be helpful .. Same email & same phone contact as in 2005...

Thanks Minh.. I can't believe it has been over 6 years. Cannot wait for the new tank I am like a newbie cannot wait... I am researching sources of rock & sand as I Plan for 500g plus 2X 65g plus a sump of 75 g... Lots of purchases needed. Any suggestions by any member are welcome
Restarted my old 150G sump that I did not sell and restarted an old 90 g that was sitting in the basement..

I am about to start my 340 g reef tank also. The fish room is being built, the tank is inthere and leveled on a steel stand. Light and equibment are all in. I am cleaning up the tank right now (Old Planet Aquarium Starfire tank) with external overflow.
I got rock sitting in the Corpus Christi bay for the last 2 weeks. I immagin in the next 6 weeks or so I will have LR that go directly from the bay to my tank. There will be minimal cycle if any.
You and me start a tank at about the same time but I am sure you will get it up and running before I will. I have to work too.

Update: main Tank dimensions 130X31X30H with Starphire glass Front & Back, Propagation tank on bottom left side, seamless glass tanks: 75G 48X18X22 same size for refugium on the right side & a 70g sump in the lower middle section of the setup 35X24X20 ... Presently scheduled to arrive end of September.
