Thanks for replies (didn't mean to hijack the thread 8O )

I doubled checked and Dizzy is definitely A. japonicus (looks just lik Minh's picture). I was asking due to the differentiation of names. Dizzy seems to be doing fine, though there are some concerns, which I'll post in a different thread.

Thanks

Tommy

Hijack fine. I'm enjoying learning from other people's experiences.

Dude, your tank is doomed! That tank is way to small for any of those fish...you better try keeping a clown goby alone in there. But only one, or else it could mean disaster!...

I suppose I could do a Live Rock only tank with no fish. Or is this still too small for LR?

Seriously, I had read in both books & some internet info that one could keep multiple tangs (of different species) in the same tank, and one book even said 55g is the minimum for a tang. But I wanted to hear other people's experience (not hearsay, but experience).

Consensus appears to be 1 will be fine; 2 may be ok if I'm real careful. Lots of people recommend the Z. Flavescens, as being inexpensive, good at munching green stuff, reasonably hardy, and not too large. Some recommend a Chevron, others the Japonicus, either as the sole tang occupant or the second one.

As I'm naturally cautious, I'll stick w/ one for a good long time.

When the time comes (e.g. when the LR has matured and my other fish have established their own territory), I'll ask the LFS to order & hold a tang for me.

I just put a convict tang in my 130 a few weeks ago and he's doing fan-freakin-tastic. Chows into everything I throw at him and is happy and friendly. Good looking fish in a minimalist sort of way, too.

I have a yellow and a naso in my 125.I know the naso will outgrow this tank and will be setting up a bigger tank in the future(180g I hope)but they`re both fat and happy for now.Naso is about 7 inches,I know they get real big but he`s a great fish so I`m planning on doing what I have to do to keep him.

Love your rock! Are those leather corals (Sarcophyton) in the back?

And are those two green arms 2/n of a brittle or serpent star? Holy @#$^*!

But your tank is a 125, ergo, 72" long, right? I'm setting up a 120, which is 60" long (59" on the inside), so I should be more conservative on the fish... :(
