I just got in 2 different types of base rock and want to comment about it....I received a box of Caribsea "Reef Bones" and it was amazing rock. Nice big pieces they sent...Also I received an order from Reeferrocks.com, also great rock that was handpicked to my specifications by them also. If I were to pick a better base rock, it probably would be the Caribsea "Reef Bones", but for the value of reeferrocks its definately worth it....

I have to agree with you about the Reef Bones. A box from Premium Aquatics just showed up a few hours ago and the pieces are nice - the three largest ones range from 9.5# to 12.5# dry weight. Lots of dried reef life and pink coralline so you know this was once healthy live rock. Attached is a picture with a 12" ruler for scale.

Whats this stuff like to work with, could you drill it or saw it like you could with proper live rock. Wit the price of this stuff it wouldn't seem sucha shame to do some sereous moulding work.

Hmmm, T5's, Reef Bones & the new Tunze Pumps. this could turn into a really nice softy tank and not for a whole loada cash either, hmmmmmmmm.

Yes you could easily drill the reef bones rock.....Very sturdy rock unlike some base rock that just crumbles when you squeeze it....
