Pro-Heat Titanium IC Heater questions......

I got my spiffy new titanium indestructible heater yesterday

When I hooked it up and installed I notice that when I plugged it into the outlet that the temp dial is upside down!!! What kind of crap is this? Do I need to stand on my head to read this damned thing? LOL Did I get a factory second and not know it or are all these heaters like this?

They should have seperated the controller from the power plug! What idiot missed this design flaw? Any how my questions:

1) Are all the heaters like this or did I get a product from a disgruntled employee playing jokes on me? LOL

2) I put the heater in my sump replacing my other heater. Should I put the temp probe in my main tank or into the sump with the heater? Right now I put it in the sump but was thinking the tank would be the better place to have it?

Mine aren't upside down. Perhaps the outlet you are using is upsidedown. Is the ground prong on the 'bottom' side?

I like the controller on the power plug. I think the other ti heater has a seperate controller and plug - it is more expensive.

I don't think it matters, sump/tank for the the probe, if you sump is directly under your tank. I would keep them in the same body of water though.

Also, the dial is innacurate, so don't go by it.

Mine isn't upside down either.

So far I really like the heater. The displayed temperature has been quite accurate.

I would be concerned about putting the heater in the sump. If the return pump fails, everything dies. Its kind of ugly, but I have mine hidden behind the rock in the tank.

I'm not concerned about it being in the sump because of return pump failure. If anything my tank would get to hot from the halides and not too cold. At noght I keep the room temp steady.

Thanks Righty, I think I will leave both the probe and heater in the sump.

I think it is upside down. The ground is on the bottom. Should I see about sending it back? It is obviously new and works, just annoying as hell LOL

I recently have had to reformat my HD and no longer have photoshop to edit my photo size. Any suggestions on how to edit my photos so I can get them to upload to the forum?

how about trying to set the resolution the the lowest setting on the camera, this should give you a smaller size. I guess it depends on the mega pixels, not sure but my 2 cents

Stupid question, but are you sure your electric socket isn't upside down? I thought you had the digital display version. The analog display I don't think would be accurate enough to make it worth the hassle of returning since you probably use an accurate thermometer to adjust the heat anyway.

Hey Puff, I have a simular one (if not the same), but I don't plug it into the wall but a power strip, so I don't have the problem you have. Just a thought though..that dial turns pretty easy, and it's easy to fry your fish.. I usually put a piece of tape over the dial, so that I don't accidentially turn it up.

Yea just throw a little extension cord on it and flip it over. I too was thinking it was digital.
