Oceanic won't sell 58 tank only????

I was trying to get a 58 (36x18x20) which is carried by only Oceanic, not All-Glass. I don't want a reef ready, just a plain vanilla tank. They only sell it packaged with the glass canopy and a strip light- at $100 over the price of a 65 AGA! Sheesh, I probably have a dozen strip lights in my basement.....

I got my 58 without all that junk. I just got tyhe tank and the stand. No lights or glass canopy.

Nothing is wrong with AGA, but they don't make a 58....

I had the same issue when I bought my 37 "square" and 42 hex tank by Oceanic. Unbeknownst to me, they came with glass tops and lights. I wasn't given the option of purchasing the tanks without these items. I left the lights and one glass canopy behind at the LFS. I kept the glass canopy for the hex tank because it's unique. Unfortunately, I destroyed the canopy a short time later when I sat a 150 watt HQI fixture on it for just a few minutes. The glass literally "exploded" into pieces.

you can get the 58 in the E-series, but it is only available in lt oak. I have bought them tank only before. most lfs don't want to go to the trouble though. I have had several customers request them this way

FWIW I think someone was trying to sell a used rr corner 58 with stand and hood either ar RC or here. You may want to check it out, I think he was from NY.
