hi i have a 55 gal setup for over 1.5 years running on 4 n/o ft bulbs 2 10k,2 actinic, i have upgraded my light to 4 vho setup which i run the same 2 10 k 2 03, do u know if i need to transition my corals to the upgraded like going from 3 watts p/gal to 9/per gal. i have my current setup i have included a pic i have many corals, ie frogspawn, dount,green star polps,snake polps,galaxia,and others, i am building a canopy and will run at least 2 cooling fans and have the bulbs about 6-8 inch off the water surface. what will i have to do if anything to not sunburn the coral so to speak, any suggetions? thanks alot

I would cut down on the photoperiod in first few day, and maybe put a screen over the tank top to cut down on the intensity. You don't want to bleach your coral due the sudden increase in light intensity.

Either that or just change one bulb at a time with a two week gap between. At least that way you wont have to waste any light by shading it out. But defenately do it slowly which ever way you decide to do it.
