I am revising my stocking plan for my 29 gallon reef. Just put on a new filter and skimmer, btw. :D

Here goes the fish that I want to include/are considering. Obviously, some must go, which what I'm trying to work out. I already have the watchman goby.

Yellow watchman
Pair of clowns( percs or skunks)
Chalk Bass (the dwarf kind, you know)
Pyramid butterfly
Flame angel

What are your opinions? I will be keeping probably a moderate load of corals, mainly softies and a few LPS. No SPS. Thanks! :D

Pyramid b-flies are rumored to be reef safe. I have considered putting one in my 75. I'd check on how big those guys get and then check again before you put one in.

The flame angel will nip at your lps. Might consider leaving him out. The other fish are pretty good selections. Not sure how big skunks get, but most clowns get larger than percs, I'd go with the percs, given that your tank is only 29g. (Only two, and you should read up on adding clownfish. There's a trick to getting them to like each other.)

Imo, a butterfly and an angel get too big for a 29. :) The rest I believe are okay.

Pick one or the other (I'd go with the C. loricula/loriculus, or another Centropyge) to avoid imminent overcrowding issues. The butterfly will be in need of much more swimming room than a 29 can afford.

Interesting, since I have already kept the butterfly in the tank, but he ided due to ick invasion(which has been terminated).

It'll be a big sacrifice either way, since these are probably two of my favorite fish. So then the list would be:

Yellow watchman
Pair of clowns (not sure yet, maybe perc sincethey smaller)
Chalk bass
Flame angel/pyramid butterfly, you guys seem to favor the angel.

ANy other suggestions? :D :P

If he died due to ich then you did not see this fish at it's full size. Oh... and don't believe that complete bs about fish only growing to the size of their tank. That's one of the most ridiculous urban legends I've heard about this hobby yet.

i would not get the butterfly too because they need lots of swimming space and get pretty big. get the flame angel or some other dwarf angel instead or you can just stay with the watchman, clown pair, and chalk bass :) no need to stuff a fish tank to the max imho.
