Can anyone tell me if a Harelquin bass would get a long with a six line, neon goby, lawnmowe blenny, yellow tang, trigger and emperor angel in a 100 gallon? thanks

Which fish are we talking about here. :?
Is this a Serranus tigrinus ( Harlequin Bass ) or Choerodon fasciata ( Harlequin Tuskfish ). If it's the former definitely no, as in the wild they grow to about 12" If it's the latter this would be debatable, your Neon Goby would probably be a snack.

Well since a tuskfish is a wrasse, I don't think that's what we're talking about here.
I agree with David for the most part - however S. tigrinus doesn't grow so fast in captivity, and doesn't reach full size. I've kept plenty of them. You'll NEVER see even a 10" individual in captivity. Still, a 4" indivual is big enough to cause your neon goby problems. :) If not for the neon goby, I'd say give it a go. They are GREAT captives, and although somewhat chromaticaly challenged, they are interesting enough to make up for it.

Ive seen that bass before somewhere, Im near positive they grow to at least a foot.

Well because they do.
Heck I never ask any questions so let this be a first ( I know the answer already probably ).
Why do people state this fish never grows to 12" in an aquarium ? This is not the first time I've seen or heard this statement. So let the explanations begin, unfortunately there are no prizes. Well maybe if I ever meet you in person I'll by you a beer. :)
Actually I've decided to make this question more general. Since this is a common reply in many responses. Why do people state that this or that fish almost never reach X size in an aquarium while it does in the wild ?
And please don't answer with tank size retards their growth, 8O

That's ok. :)
I figured someone would try it, but unfortunately that's a wrong answer.

my guess says that it is a complex mixture of environmental variables -- tank size :D , nutrient levels, stocking levels, swimming, interactions, specific dietary factors...etc. etc. etc.
