I am in two weeks of water cycling with 15g sump plus euroskimmer ES6-1 (just running for one day), 250w heater in the sump. The tank has 100 pound of LR (Plan to add more later) and 40 pounds of LS. Quiet One 4000 for the "T" return pipes. Last test was a week ago with 0 nitrate, 0 nitrite, 1.025 SG, alk normal, PH 8.0. I wonder what other equipments that I need to add such as power heads, SCWD, heater for the tank, etc???? Please help

I know DSB is going out of fashion. I still like a "meaningfully" deep (2"+)sand bed myself, but I've also heard stories to the contrary and don't really want to get into a DSB debate here :P

A SCWD or powerheads on a wavemaker would definitely help you alternate and increase circulation. I'd consider a Ca reactor in the future, but it's not a necessicity at all. A dosing pump can also help you automate top-off; plus your livestock doesn't experience the big salinity gradients of topping off large quantities of FW at one time.

If you've got good lights and a RO/DI, I think you're pretty much set for everything you'll need.

4 x 65W is adequete for most softies and LPS. If you're interested in Maxima/Crocea clams or SPS, I recommend you increase the lighting to 4x96W PCs or metal halides.

RO/DI units are all built about the same in my experience. I've used Captive Purity, Kent, and Spectrapure products with success. I recommend getting a 75gpd TFC membrane RO/DI.

As for powerheads, I'm a fan of Maxijets. Two MJ 1200 or 4 MJ 900 on a wavemaker would be terrific.

Now on to dosing pumps ;) You'll need a seperate container of water to hold a resevoir of freshwater. The container can be any neutral material such as a rubbermaid container or plastic trash can. Most dosing pumps can draw water from dozens of feet away or a few feet from below, so the container does not necessarily have to be next to your tank. You adjust the dosing pump to slowly dispense small portions of water throughout the whole day equal to your evap rate. I use the LiterMeter III and love it.

I've tried several different powerheads and would defiantely recommend the maxijets as my hands down favorite. Cheap, quiet running, and reliable.

If I want to have more clams later, what light should I add beside those 4 65W PC?

I just bought couple MJ1200. I would like to know where should I put in the tank. Can I put close to the return pipes in the tank?

you could do that but damsels are very hard to catch and if your tank is cycled, i think it will okay to just try hardy fish you want to permenantly keep.

i put my powerheads in the upper corners but i think it can be put anywhere, just keep in mind to stir up water in all the spots of the tank.

I'd start with the clown first, and if it goes well, then go for the yellow tang. Both are relatively hardy.

Ah. It's okay to add the clown (Maroons won't be bullied) but if the tank is still pretty barren and you are possibly thinking about removing the damsels someday, I suggst you do it now. Like fungia said, they become impossible to catch in the future. They'll be fine with a Maroon and Yellow Tang, but some smaller docile fish may be bullied.

I found that the clown hidding behind the rocks most of the time. I guess bc it has been attacked by those damsels. I have to get them out right away? Are there any easy way to remove them without taking the rocks out the tank?

AFAIK, remove the rock is the sure fire way to net them out. You can use fish trap, but that take patience and luck. If you think you have both, go with the trap routine. Oh yeah, good luck.
