Hi,

This is the third time that happened since I got into the hobby. I have a 30 gallon tall tank and few days ago I noticed my chromis damsel was not coming out to eat; usually it is very active and would come to me for food.....last night I thought of my previous experience and so checked the bottom of the tank...alas....there was the dried up body of the fish :(

I was pretty upset for it is one of the friendliest fish I have had. Currently, I do not have any glass top for I am using a hanging pendant. Should I have a top cover? I have tried before but when it is covered with salt, it affects the light penetration. Any recommendations? I don't want to loose more fish.

The plastic grids used in offices to protect flourescent light bulbs will work. They won't affect light penetration or gas exchange at all and keep the fishies in. You can find huge sheets of it at the hardware store.

Smoked to much and forgot up from down HeHe

I used my trusty dremmel and a sheet of plexi. That way I was able to cover EVERY little hole and gap perfectly.

If your worried about salt creep just rinse it off once a week.
