What have I done???

Hey all,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally went through with it and replaced my crushed coral with live sand. Took me about 3 hours and I still need to organize my LR. I cant seem to find one of my clowns but hopefully he will turn up!

I heard it would help with filtration so maybe I can get rid of the canister filter. Oh yeah, I found my other clown - he was a little shy after the change.

I did the same a while back, removed the cc then added 90# of oolite aragonite. With the skimmer and circ pumps on it took about 12 hours to see in 3" but had mostly cleared in 24 hours.

I'm gonna give it till tomorrow and when I get home from work Ill reorganize the rocks and coral.

you might want to hold off on changing the cannister filter. it wouldnt hurt using some high quality carbon and putting it in a nylon sock. and placing in a med flow area in your tank.. skim wait for 24 hours should settle down and maybe add more rock or get a small over the back micro fuge. then take the cannister out. THe cannister is acting like a big bacteria scrubber.

Dont you just hate that stand on the BF. I have the same exact stand and its a piece of shiznit. I am so glad i bought a new tank. You cant get anything under that one. :twisted:

Heh.. you know, I read the thread title and was immediately brought back to one of my favorite skits featuring "The Chicken Lady" from Kids in the Hall. It was about how she came to be, turned out the farmer's son was having his way with the chickens, and one of 'em TOOK! When "The Chicken Lady" hatched, we flash to her view (looking up from the egg), with the farmer and his wife looking properly horrified, then they look to their son and say, "WHUT HAVE YOU DUN????"

I got the stand and tank from Petsmart. The f'n thing is so small in the center that I pile everything on top, behind, around, and anywhere else I find space!

Looks nice though!

i changed out my cc also (a long while ago) and had the same effects..i like ls much better then cc...

THis is a pain in the @ss!!! The tank cleared and I moved the rock trying to reorganize and the d@mn thing fogged up on me again. OH WELL

Its starting to clear and this is what I did in the clouded water (not bad)!

Nice one. Its looking good now. I'm going to end up posting one these "what have I done?" crisis posts when I have to move my 150 gallon tank about a half an hour from here at least (sometime in the next year). I don't even want to talk about it.

I feel soooo sorry for you :!:
As long as you get some help (and make plenty of xtra H2O) you should be fine. It sucks but it feels like getting a new toy once its over with.
