In one last attempt to get rid of the aiptasia, I figured I'd give this a shot before I tore my tank down. I've tried peppermints a couple times, a couple different copperbands, tried injecting with stop aiptasia, lemon juice, kalk. Nothing worked. This stuff worked beyond my expectations.
In my 55, I had at least 500 aiptasia. Four rocks were completely covered,
those I took out and are soaking in freshwater for a week or two. Started
the joe's juice on the rest, and it works great. The big ones took 2 tries, they lived through the first application, but weren't doing well, the 2nd killed them. These had a oral disk on them 1-1/2 inches across, maybe 2".
Now my bristle worms are eating the dead aiptasia. My tank is on the rebound finally.

I gave away most of my livestock a while ago, I planned on tearing down the tank and giving up. I do have some snails, a couple crabs, and a conch
in there that haven't been affected by it. I did not have any shrimp in there that I know of, there may be a peppermint or two, I never found all that I had bought.

Yeah, I'll chime in as well. Joe's Juice owns and here's why:

1. It took all of 30 seconds to rid my aquarium of aiptasia. Think of it. 30 seconds. Those little buggers have been pestering you for how long?

2. No pest anemone's have been back since

3. Nothing else died in my tank (one was in close proximity to those red aquacultured shrooms going around right now; another was actually in my GSP mat ... not one polyp dead. Another was just below some zoanthids, no collaterol damage there either). Though, I wish that good for nothing peppermint WOULD have died.

4. The tiny bottle is enough to wage genocide on aiptaisa worldwide. I think I used .00000001% of what was in it ... and I have enough left over for like ... years of reefy goodness.

I got the same results by using kalk paste exactly the same was as Joes Juice is applied. I still think JJ is just Kalk!

This is a GREAT product. It is definitely not kalk paste. The anemones literally melt in front of your eyes. I thought it was going to take days for them to die: seconds later they were gone. Yes, the big ones needed two applications, but who cares, this stuff is awsome. Some of the stuff also fell on my mont cap and gorgonia, they didnt even flinch and are doing great. And to think I almost didnt buy it cause I thought "8 bucks is a lot for a little vial of something that isnt even gonna work." This stuff is worth every penny. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone with aptasia

I saw no difference between it and kalk paste. But, if it is working for you, go for it.

Maybe I screwed up my kalk paste or something, then? it didn't work at all.

We'll be able to figure out exactly what it is when the Joe's Juice patent is approved. It may not be easy to reproduce though, if he's got some wack ingredient in there or a funky process is required to make it.

I thought it looked like the alkalinity component of B-Ionic, once it comes in contact with the water and sort of clumps up. I tried to blast my aptasia with that a couple times and they retracted into holes in the live rock, but with the joe's juice they almost want to try to eat it. I also have a flame scallop (been in the tank for about 14 months) that had a little of the juice fall in his shell, he snapped it shut a few times, expelled it and is fine.

It would be so funny if it turned out to be the alk of b ionic! If I can find my b ionic, and an appy, I will try it!

It isn't kalk. When you shoot kalk at aiptasia they retract.

They embrace the Joes Juice and then "poof". I don't know yet how permanent that is.

Didn't matt over at Inland Aquatics tried to come out with similar stuff? Or was it flat worm extinguisher instead?

Good to hear! However, I never really have problems with aiptasia. Maybe I have the best of the peppermint shrimps.

I shot one three times so far. First time he reappeared with no head. Second time I swore I got emm and he reappeared about a week later with a shiny new head. I think the proble with him was that he is at the very bottom of my tank and its hard for me not to wiggle when I a trying to feed him the juice so he doesnt get a good mouthful
