slow edits?

Is it just me, or are edits to posts taking a long time to get accepted, if at all?

Yeah, the admin is aware of this problem, since a few of us had started to complaint to them about the 5-10 minutes edit problem for a few month....

The good news is that they are avidly working on moving the server over to one that is more competent, so this problem will go away soon.

Ahhh glad someone posted I thought it was my crappy DSL from verizon.

I was also getting the crittical error message when trying to get on the boards a few weeks ago but seems thats been fixed.

Crappy DSL, Ben I'm envious; I'm still slogging along @56K as DSL isn't available out here and cable wants to financially rape me. Not complaining, simply stating a fact...

Perplexing though... It took about twenty seconds to initially post, then about three minutes to edit; go figure...

It is not if you know what a PITA it is for database that is not optimized for editing to change the content. Almost all database do a very good job in appending new data to the end, but insertion and editing is a different story.

Yep, we're experiencing some server lag on this (and other issues). Rest assured that we're working on a solution with a server move as we've pretty much maxed out our existing server. IIRC we've been on this one for close to 3 yrs now. We've grown *considerably* since then. We're targeting a resolution to this in the next couple of weeks.
