Cool. How many T5's do you have, what type (actinic/50-50/aquasun/etc), and what size tank do you have them on?

I agree. Very good growth rates.
I asked before, but are T5's a lot better than PC's?
Also, where can I find them on the web to purchase?

T5's are more efficient and produce more lumens per watt than pc's. ie You'll get more light from a T5 than from a PC of the same wattage. Which allows you to get more light production from the same amount of space. Couple that with a better reflector and you've got a winner.

Great pics! I dont have anything in the tank but FW right now, but I have an 8 bulb 4ft. t5 Sunlight Supply setup on there. Thought I would ask you a few questions:

I am running 4 "Starcoat bulbs in back" and 4 "Actinic Blue" bulbs in front. It is a little blue for my taste when fully lit, but I want to achieve the daylight effect. Any suggestions? I am not electrically knowledgable, and do not want to open/rewire things. Are these the best bulbs to have?

I like the sps in your tank. Which SPS + acros do you think I could keep under my t5's? Do you think I could keep clams (maximas) under these?

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Jon

Ive been hearing good thinga about T5's, im considering a predatory soft coral set up. Maybee a little troupe of fuzzy loins, a radiata and a frig fish, and then i was going to go the soft coral route. But seeing the effect youve got on the SPS i miight have to reconsider.

Playdope you can place any sps and any clams under t5 light
iv got blue T maxima and shes doing bether then she does
with my iwasaki 250.

if you can get the lomilux 860 bulb form OSRAM (6000k) with the same
number of actinic or 20000k - it will work bether then with 10000k
bulbs.

heres a photo of my maxima and more shot of the tank
with more sps that i put yesterday.

Nice pics! This is so great to hear, b/c i was wondering what i could keep under these lights. Why would 6000k work better than the 10000k? Isn't 10000k like daylight - the standard of most white lights on the market?
