One of my hairy mushrooms was almost totally detached from the rock that has the other shrooms on it. He was only hanging on by a very very small part of his foot.

He looked no different from the others and still looked to be in perfect health. I don't understand it? Could one of my many emeralds or hermits got hungry or pissed of and snipped him off?

They do that. It's their way of spreading the population around the reef. It should reattach somewhere else in time. Or, you can put it in a small container with a piece of rubble and then place it where you like once it attaches. Just keep an eye on it.

I second reefworm, my Hairy rooms use to do the same. I trade about six colonys from this colony. Keep control of it or they are going to control your tank, i move it to my prop. tank because they use to harm my SPS corals. They use to split eather. Ralphyhp  .
