good mh bulbs?

Its about that time again for me to get some new MH bulbs. I currently have the 175watt 10kk AB bulbs and was just wondering what I should get now? I still want to stick with 10kk bulbs but just wondering if anyone knows of any good deals or good bulbs to get. btw I have a magnetic ballast. thanks!

Im partial to 12,000k bulbs...I like the sunbursts......

If you are wanting to stick to 10Ks then ABs and Ushios are both great bulbs.

is it true thought that 12kk bulbs do not have as high of par as 10kk bulbs. I was just wondering which would be more beneficial for my tank.

The 12K Sunburst bulbs have a history of exploding and a poor PAR rating. If you are wanting to try a higher K bulb you might want to look at the CoralVue bulbs (they now have a 12K and 15K in addition to the 20K bulbs).

Almost forgot, yes the higher K bulbs are generally not as intense as the 10K bulbs (lower PAR).

I am on my second sunburst and the first one did die out at 3 monthes. Aquaticlight.com gave me a free replacement without charging me a pro rate. The second bulb I am on now is again at the 3 month point so we will see.

The actinic color combined with the white glimmering light is real cool though. I love the sunbursts.....

We run the Ushio's and really like them.
