Just got back today and noticed they were closing. That stinks. Well, was great while it lasted. I guess I'll be making all my purchases down in Seakonk.
Thanks Matt and Tom. Hope you'll still be around.

Truly a sad day for the hobby.

Matt & Inland Reef has always been the model LFS that all the other shops should strive to become.

http://www.inlandreef.com/

Important Announcement!

Inland Reef Aquaria is ceasing operations and will be closing it's retail store in Nashua, NH.

Pending internet orders and special orders will be fulfilled, but no new orders are being taken.

The reasons for this decision are multiple, but it is driven more than anything else by the owner's desire to concentrate his full attention on his other business, AstronomyDaily.com, which will soon be opening it's new retail telescope store in the space currently occupied by Inland Reef.

We felt that this decision was probable at some point in the future, so it made the most business sense to do this now before we spent a considerable amount to complete the new tank room.

The Salt Study will be completed, regardless of the status of Inland Reef Aquaria.

Matt, good luck with your new venture AstronomyDaily.com, and please don't forget about us reefers back here on this blue planet we call home.

you know it's funny. why would you 1/2 move a running store only to say you want the space for telescopes. they should have kept it as it was and he could have had all the damn telescopes he wanted at that new dump. if he wanted out of reefing he could have sold the old store so it would have lived on. now we are all screwed. Salem just aint cuttin it. Damn.

i wonder if it was a building code issue? what ever came of that stuff? six months to hang some plywood? we all knew somthing was up. ARG!!! thanks though it was a great thing while it lasted. tom you are such an ******* but i dig that about you. scott a nicer more polite and helpful guy i have never known. good luck to the both of you. pete never knew ya but you seemed ok. matt.....well.... may every night be cloudy until the day you pull your head from out your arse.

reefsRcool,
If you have criticism or complaint, please word it in a respectuful and constructive way. Your post was unnecessarily offensive and abrasive.

Matt helped me out greatly on getting a skimmer when I was a newb. Tom has added many helpful comments on the board as well. Both have added some very helpful things about questionable equipment that was tested, and additives etc.

ReefsRcool, you owe an apology.

All -

The reason we are closing is exactly that posted on the web site. AstronomyDaily.com is now getting over 4 million hits per month and I don't want to waste any more time getting a store set up to support online sales.

The fact is that there is only enough time in a day for me to run one busness well. Rather than run Inland Reef and AstronomyDaily.com both poorly, I choose to run AstronomyDaily.com with as much vigor and attention to detail as I devoted to Inland Reef Aquaria.

Yes, we would have saved money if I had made this decision before we moved, but that's just not the way things worked out.

You got a spare $200,000 then put your money where your mouth is, otherwise, conduct yourself with appropriate manners please.

MarkO - Aqua Addicts has some dry goods, but not a large selection (salt, test kits, some books and food). I haven't seen much in the way of anything else, but then I haven't looked hard. They do sell RO/DI water for $.20 a gallon.
