Hi, I have a 3 inch porcupine puffer which had been eating properly and fine in the last year or so. He had some occasional snails and crabs, but his main diet was krill. He wouldnt take anything else. 2-3 weeks ago he just stopped eating for some reason. SOmone suggested that I trim his teeth down, which I did and have done before. But that did not help at all, he still doesn't eat. He usually will swim over excidtedly to the food and will hit it with his mouth once but will give up and swim away. I am pretty sure he can open his mouth because I have seem him do it. By any chance is he just sick of krill and I should find other food sources. When I first bought him I tried everything from oysters, clams, squid, flake, brine, mysis, formula 1, sand eel, the little fishy things you feed to larger fish.... but all he took was the krill. What should I do? I don't think he has eaten anything in the last couple weeks or so. Actually the first day after I trimmed his teeth he did eat but stopped after that day for some reason. Is my puffer doomed? The only thing different that I have done in the last couple weeks about my tank is to take out a triggerfish, add a lawnmower blenny and an emerald crab. Thanks for listening, please help me out!

you get about two liters of tank water, add a drop or two of clove oil. Put the puffer in, it'll be knocked out in about a minute, pick it up, using gloves, and trim his top and bottom teeth with cuticle nippers. Put him back in the tank, and he should be conscience in about 5-10 minutes

guess you learn something new everyday. why couldnt clove oil be used to capture wild fish? gotta be less harmful to corals and stuff?
