Anemone Split

I have BTA that's about 3-4 inches across and I noticed yesterday evening that it has changed into a heart shape. This morning it seems the cleft at the top of the "heart" has gotten deeper, there are tentacles growing on both sides of the cleft as well. Is it about to split? How long does the process take? Am I just a wishful thinker? Thanks!

Sounds like a split to me. It's not pretty when it happens, so don't freak out.

Really, don't freak out! If you are there to actually see the process take place, you will probably freak anyway. It looks like they have torn themselves at first and you would swear that it is on it's last legs. Soon it will rip itself completely apart and the the smaller clone will take a hike away from the parent. It is pretty cool once you know that it isn't dying.

It's not to the point of freaking me out yet, I've never seen it happen before and I'm looking forward to seeing the process. I will take some pics as it progresses. How long does it usually take?

mine took a total of maybe 30-45 minutes. pretty quickly all things considered.
