I know doing a large water change will do it. However, right now I don't have enuff IO salt. In mean while.. can I use white vinegar to bring down the alk (of course I have to check to make sure the pH is still in range)..

is your livestock ok? I would do the water change and not mess with the vinegar. the water change should be fine. dose kalk in small quantity this should balance out the high alk. are you using RO water?

It's 6 meg/L or 16.8dKH.

Yes all my fishes are ok..
However, my cleaner shrimp died.
All my snail are inactive. They are still alive, but they don't move at all.

Other parameter:

Temp:74F - 76F
sq: 1.024-1.025
pH: 8.2-8.3
Ammonia: < 0.25
Nitrate: 0
Nitrate: < 5.0

My $.02...

Partial water change with all the salt/RO you have available. Drip kalk as previously mentioned if you have it and go get more salt mix. I'd steer clear of acid.

Whatever you do, do it rather gradually.

Thank guys..

I just went to pick up some salt.....
I did a 10% water change... seeing some snail start moving.. it's a good sign.
Alk level is down to 15dKH .. will do some kalk dripping tonite.
