Kuiter shows a somewhat different color morph in Fairy & Rainbow Wrasses and their relatives.. This one is from Java.

Yet, none of these photos are Joew's fish. There is shown variability in the Cirrhilabrus spp. wrasses. But again, none are just like his fish.

They don't bother corals, clams and most other fish, despite what some have said here.

LOL, I gues the only reference to them being bad at all is my comment about the "Wrasses eat-um-up-us". I thought no one would take my comment seriously as it is obviously a Cirrhilabrus sp., we just aren't sure which.

Joew is often in #reefs on IRC and I was pretty sure he already knew it was a fairy wrasse, I was just giving him a hard time and trying to inject a little humor into the day.

lol, Nathan

Mitch, would you please take a better photo (or do a scan) of Kuiter's pictures of the female C. solorensis. Those two photos might be the closest thing I've seen yet.

John,
The picture is of sub-adults. Kuiter didn't show the females, but I doubt they are more colorful than the males. Great book BTW.
