just wondering? i have some algea growing on glass very bright green and very tough to get off is it bad algea? i have lots of encrusting green red pink and puple algea aswell would the green be the start of the encrusting? i have no nitrates well practically none i use skilter 400 have skimmer on 8 hours a day several corals a few fish about 100 lbs of fiji llive rock 65gal 3 10000k coralife 40watt bulbs and 2 actinic's 40watt low phosphates and silica any help would be great.

If it is difficult to remove it sounds like coraline algae. Use a credit card and scrap it off - hard to remove but does not grow very fast.
