running hagen 300 with aquac remora???

i havent decided on a skimmer for my 40 g FOWLR but im leaning toward the remora. im currently running 2 hagen pwerheads for circulation and also running hagen 300 powerfilter since i dont have a skimmer yet. also have about 10-13 lbs live rock. the question: once i get the skimmer can i run it with my hagen 300? or is this bad? :?:
