I have a feeling that it might but it depends on what you want to keep in there... Softies and LPS would probably be a problem due to too much flow, but SPS only might work very well.

Maybe you'd be better off with one of the new seio's. Not the same quality of course, but cheaper and possible a better size for your application.

You could use a Tunze Turbelle Electronic Kit. A Model 7210/2 that includes a Turbelle 7200/2 pump: 132-633gph plus a Singlecontroller7091. That would be killer on that tank. Marine Depot sells them.

Are u talking about the "wave maker thing they make? U cannot dial it down it only has one freq. I saw one of these at the IMAC confrence out in CHicago. It is a cool concept. They had this in a 90 gal setup. the corlas were going crazy back & forth way to fast. They went swaying naturally they were just rocking back & forth very rapidly. The corals polyps weren't really out due to being stressed out in my opinion. I think this setup would be reallly good though in a 6-8 foot tank. the motion would take longer to go back & forth & would be a much better environment fot the corals IMO.

No, I think he's talking about one of the controllable Tunze powerheads as distinct from the Tunze Stream lineup. The "normal" powerheads pump lower volume and higher velocity than the "stream" pumps.

You can put a DIY eductor (http://themantledmonster.thereeftank.com/ediy.html) on a powerhead to trade volume for velocity, though they can be pretty spectacularly ugly in your tank.

I would suggest getting one of the 6000 model Stream pumps (the smallest controllable Stream pump) along with a controller and keep it turned way down. As in minimum levels at night with 30-50% of full power during the day for wave action.

Ross

I have the smallest (uncontrollable) stream (forget the number) running across the back of the tank. On continuously except for a couple hour break at night. On the far corner directly in the flow monti digitata has been been forming fan shapes that block the flow, but eventually the tissue has been beaten back where it faces the flow.

I am about to fine out! After being on back order for three weeksfrom marine depot I finally got notification that my tunze stream has shipped. I have the smallest one with a controller. I'll post after I get it in to let all know how it works.
