Hey all,
I have a "leftover" hair algae problem. In certain areas of my tank, mostly in the shaded areas there is hair algae. I switched to RO/DI water and it seems to have stopped growing but it wont go away. Can you give me your suggestions on what type of hermits or snails do the best job to eat this sh1t. If you cant see it in the pic, let me know and Ill try to get a closer picture.
Thanks
Dave

Basically, you've got to pull it out by hand. It's a real pain, but the best way (as well as your already switched to rodi).

I would suggest getting 5 or 10 scarlet red hermits they worked wonders for my hair algea problem.. Just make sure they are bright red not any other color..

Scarlet hermits are ok but 5-10 might be ok for alarge tank 150 galloons or so but in a small tank I would stick with 1-2 but I hate hermits.

The best way is a toothbrush. Just scrub it off the rocks with the brush and it wont come back as long as the water parameters have been fixed.
