I have a couple of prop tanks from which I will be removing the DSBs to allow for more flow and easy cleaning. The DSB is the only form of biological filtration, and Im searching for something to take its place. I would rather not go with the conventional bio wheel/ball method, and have been thinking about a fluidized bed filter. Having never used one in the past Im curious as to whether they work or not, and any pros and cons of using one. Are there any specific brands or models that work best? Any other suggestions welcome. I would fill the tanks with LR, but the tanks are very shallow and I don want to give up any realestate TIA

Wow, Adrian, it's been about a decade since I've used/operated a fluidized filter. I'd have to go digging in the memory banks, as the filters I was dealing with were commercial units.

Yeah they must be a thing of the past, cant really find any info on them, and from the replies Ive got on RC the cons seem to outweigh the pros of using one, they sound good in theory though, but so does a lot of stuff
