I've been happy with my Captive Purity and Kent 3 stage RO filters. They're closer to $150, but well worth it :D

In addition, Premium Series RO/DI units include a valve that provides access to the RO water before it enters the DI housing, useful for accessing drinking water, and it simplifies the process of checking the performance of the RO membrane

Plus it has the clear housings and the pressure guage.

Buy the cheapest available and use DI resin afterwards if necessary. If you have very low water pressure, get a booster pump.

Thnx for all suggestions, if you have any more, plz share. But first a question that probably is all relative and cant be answered but Ill try anyway. If I get a good RO unit like the ones you guys posted, do you think itll kill all the f***in hair algae on my LR? ANd get rid of the cyano?TIA

I have been thinking about getting one if I move to keeping corals but otherwise I don't see a need for it.

FWIW, I use a RO/DI/DI and still get cyno once in a while. It will limit the nutrients you are adding to the reef by a lot. If you watch your feeding and continue doing a decent amount of water changes both the hair and cyno should go away. You may also need increased circulation for the cyno to go away.
