Puffs of "Smoke"

Haven't posted in a while, always lurking, but I have a topic I need to ask a question about. I did a search and didn't find the same situation.

Today I was doing my usual tank maintenance and I saw puffs of what looked like smoke coming out from my rock. It quickly dissipates into the water. I assumed that this was some sexual output of something int he tank, but there is nothing in the places where the smoke was coming from. no snails, worms, or at least any that I can see. Has anyone ever had this? Should I be doing a water change quickly?

I see the same thing in my tank, it is usually a worm or other invert expelling waste from their micro-cave in the rock.

i think it is probably worms like spaghetti worms. they "puff" out stuff all the time from the rocks and you dont ever see them really.
