It looks good for the most part, its a ncie setup, the only thing i have with it is the skimmer looks kinda useless. I had a skimmer filter combo like that once, the skimmer looked pretty much the same except it was attached to a filter and was HOB, the whole thing was a POS for a reef.

If its an FO, it depends what fish, big fish id be cautious, smaller neater fish i say go for it. FOWlR same thing as FO. Reef i dunno, youll need a beter skimmer especially for SPS, but the whole sump thing isnt bad.

HTH :D

Mainly the things that are in my current 135. I'm pretty much just downsizing. I've got a Sebae Anemone that I've had for a couple of years, brains, candy canes, and various mushrooms. Only a few fish. My current setup which includes a large sump and a Berlin XL modified skimmer will be to large to fit in the new stand.

Thanks,
Phillip

I think lighting will be your priority with this tank if you are keeping corals.

Yeah it will. I'm planning on 2-250w MH with 2 36"VHO's. That should be enough. So about this skimmer and filter, you think it will be ok?

Ok...this is how I feel about this.......I never will purchase anything on Ebay. If you are going to use a sump under your tank there are better ways to go. I myself like my Hangons. Very easy for me to maintain and uses less space. I would not purchase that package. I would do this....Get a Power Filter(hang on)....and a hang on Protien Skimmer. Thats it. I am from the old school and this works for me. Christ :!: My first marine tank had an underground filter, power filter,no skimmer, and no liverock. It was just fine for fish and a few creepy crawlies.

Thanks. That's actually what I wanted to hear! I already own a peguin filter. All I need to do is buy a skimmer. And besides that the 65 tank is $200 vs. $245 for the RR, and it's stock at my LFS. I'm thinking of going with a Aqua C remora. Any thoughts on this skimmer vs. othe hang on's.

Thanks,
Phillip

Remora's are great, and i also like hang-on skimmers, very easy and space friendly. I have the same setup taht BangBang described, power filter and hang on skimmer. Remora's are probably the best hang on out their, plus their not very expensive. You could go witha pro or a regular, many people will say go with pro, i say if u can afford it why not. :)

I'm going to go with the Pro. Are these things noisy? That's one of the main things I hate about mu current setup. Just to noisy.

I have a Remora Pro; Yes They are a little noisey at first but you get used to it fast. I have found that I you can house it in your hood you will almost not hear it at all at night when its totally quiet. I thought a few times that it had stopped running.. I would also recommend going with the mag3 pump and a filter box..

Thanks. That was going to be my next two questions. What pump to use and skimmer box or not. I guess you answered them! Marinedepot has the skimmer with Mag for $228. I can't find any cheaper anywhere else. does that sound like a fair price?
