I am going to add a Ampmaster 3000 I picked up to my system. The person I bought it from changed the 1.5 in and out to a 1 inch out and 1.25 in. Any reason besides reduced flow that I should leave it as is?

TIA

You probably already know this, but just FYI, according to the manufacturer, going from 1.5" down to 1" plumbing results in like a 40% loss in flow.

That is true if you go to a single 1". I think if you tee off to (2) 1" pipes you only get the same reductions as with any fitting. I may be wrong.

Louey,

Which option are you talking about?

Chris,
I know about the loss, but if I can get the water movement I want without having to spend money on new fittings for the pump I am happier!

I was referring to the one pictured below. It is basically a tee, which was what I thought a read in your original post. My bad.

You should able even happier if you know that the pump will also make your heater works less.
