its not a predator on fish..ive never heard of a CB shrimp capturing and eating fish...however they arent really cleaner shrimp..they fall in the family of cleaner shrimp but i think they tend to scavange more than clean...actually im surprised the Maroon doesnt handle his honestly..

I've seen one large specimen catch damsel before. I think any large crustaceans are opportunistic feeders and they'll take what they can get type of mentality. Also I think the only type of fish they tend to clean is puffers I believe porcupines to be exact(I think).

CB's have most definitely been known to be territorial and/or opportunistic with fishes and other other arthropods. Very small fish can fall prey, it's not necessarily a common occurrence, but it's absolutely not unknown. For these reasons I tend to avoid them.

I saw my coral banded lunge out and grab my sabae clown once. He got away fine, but he was caught for a sec

My coral banded always reaches out at my tomato clown, but never ever bothered my neon goby, or my pink spotted goby. But it never actually does any harm to the clown. I'd think the fish would have to be very weak and dieing for the cbs to kill and eat it.

Yellow watchman goby = lunch, at least in my tank.

Mine always seems to be hungry, and is very greedy at feeding time. I think I am going to spot feed him first with a large chunk so he has something to work on while everyone else eats. Mine is also very large.

I've been nailed by one. They can produce quite the pinch with those claws. Never had one since, always went with scarlet, cleaner, or peppermint shrimps since. CB's are interesting charachters though, and I don't think they can pose a threat to fish that are bigger than them, although they may try.

I agree they can eat other fish if given the OPPORTUNITY..do they hunt down fish for food..I dont think so...they are more of scavangers or opportunistic if anything..mine is a full grown specimen that will lunge at the other fish however has never eaten anything in my tank...
