computer guys i need your help

i am trying t o make dvds.

i have downloaded a bunch of movies, television shows, and some of my favorite cartoons as a kid.

my problem is this. i need to get them to burn on a dvd so it will play in my dvd player on my t.v

now i believe this means i need to convert the type of file that movies are.

i though nero did this on its own, but its not and i do a test burn and nero tells me that there is a good chance the dvd will not play in a dvd burner cause of the file type

all i did was select "burn dvd video"
selected my files
then clicked burn
then nero tells me it wont work in my dvd player

anyone that may know anything about this i would appreciate your help

What type of DVD burner are you using?

its an lg burner

i dont know alot about computers but it says LG

Look at the blank disk, does it say "DVD-R"

i just bought 10 of them it says dvd-r

i know i have a dvd burner , and the blank dvds. lol that part i am sure on

Have you burned a DVD and then tired it? If not you should just go ahead and try.

yeah i have burned tons of dvds. like i r ent them and burn t hem. and my brother burns alot of x box games

the problem is that your movies need to be encoded as MPEG layer 2 (".mpg" files). You need a good DVD "authoring software that will first convert, then burn the movies to disc.
