After buying a flame angel and a a royal gramma, both of which developed a cloudy eye, my clownfish (of many years) started some strange behaviors, so I put all fish in a QT tank, been doing 20% water changes daily on the QT, and I started treating them with Maracyn 2.

Yesterday, the clown looked weak. But still feeding. Seems to have a hard time swimming straight.

Now he is doing this strange biting of the bottom of the tank, and quivers/tremors.

HELP!
Any ideas on what it is?

seems maybe what's causing the wierd behavior might be the medication itself? that's just a guess, but the timeline evidence points to that, he appears perfectly healthy, although that's not necessarily saying anything either.... sorry, that's all I got

poor little guy!

He had starting some strange twitching prior to the medication... now just worse.
Maybe a med side effect, but not sure

He's swimming strangely because he is against a clear glass bottom. The fish is trying to swim through the glass towards what he thinks is the bottom of the tank.

I hope Joyce got a ride

It looks to me like he is playing with his reflection on the tank bottom. My mated percs swim sort of jerky like that all the time and they are very healthy. I think that he looks good IMO.

A layer of sand has solved the "problem"

I'm actually amazed that's what it was! Good news either way...

consider adding another ocellaris if you have more room in the tank, IMO they're coolest (and happiest)when paired up, no biggie though

I've tried adding other clowns before, but my clown of ten years here doesn't like anyone!

The others have all been beaten up badly!
