Hello

In the past I've been a huge fan of visitherm heaters, recently had an older 100W one freak out and get hot even when it was set to low temp.

I'm going to replace it either with another Visitherm or this new one, that sounds good, the Theo. Shatterproof, and has auto off switch when low water or out of water (great safety features)

has anyone used it yet?

Thanks

Very interesting. I haven't tried one yet but I will. Having had two heaters crack on me, anything that is shatterproof is a big selling point. Right now, I use titanium heaters.

I hear you on that one, I just crack one last week. I no longer trust those suction cup clip things. :x

Patented heating film and special shatterproof glass make this submersible heater virtually unbreakable

Hmm, never seen unbreakable glass heaters. Virtually unbreakable isn't the same as breakable, but if it works, great.

Visitherm also makes a "stealth" heater, seen it @ Petco but not at petwarehouse.com yet...

It's black, and shatterproof, but the temp controls don't seem as precise, and I don't know if it has an indicator light

I personally like the won brothers titanium series with the seperate digital temp setting. I have yet to break a titanium heater.
