ok gang, the much maligned eco-aqualizer(hereafter known as e-a because i am tired of spelling eco-aqualizer) went on my 125 reef tonight at 10 pm eastern time. i will be giving reports as to weather it makes any difference on my reef. i.e. clearer water, better skimming, better light penetration, finding unicorns,raising the dead. etc etc etc. i never pull any punches, if the unit works and makes a difference, i will say so. iffin it doesn't i will lamblast it like it was a rio 2500. and ask nicely for my dough back...... keep checking gang. same bat time......same bat channel. meanwhile, here is a pic taken last sunday.

I'm not afraid to say it.
The ECO-AQUALIZER is a piece of garbage and isn't even worth typing about other than the hope that at least one person can be saved from purchasing it.
If you think it's a must then you can create the same thing for just a few bucks and a trip to Lowes or HD, minues the magnets.

we now go to da colts our roving reporter in the field, take it away da colts...... well here is an early sunday report on the e-a. as of 7 am sunday all things look about the same,however, i did lose my saron shrimp this morning,but to be fair he has not looked very well for about 2 weeks ever since i pulled his big ass out of my overflow box so his death was not because of the e-a(but we now know that the e-a does not raise the dead,the unicorn thing is still open.) this is da colts your reef man in the field, back to you stan. as always, here is another pic of my labor of love.

don't worry, i will let everyone know how it all works out. the way i look at it, most of my rio pumps lasted about 6 months and i sure ain't getting my money back on them, so what the hell, if it works , great, iffin it don't,i'll ask nicely for my money back.
ok here is the e-a update as of sunday 7-11 2004.
it appears that the skimmer is producing less skimate, not less small bubbles but less skimate. did a 20 gal water change this morning but thats the same thing i do every sat night or sunday morning.everyone looks fine, 1 of my green stars is not open but it does that about every 2 or 3 weeks and it was closed prior to the e-a going on. so far nothing that has me dancing,nothing bad(except for the less skimate) but not really anything good either light looks the same, tank is always clear as a bell. i will check the skimmer tomorrow.still looking for unicorns.(thought i saw a unicorn horn but i was mistaken, it was a rhinoceros horn, not quite the same thing) as always, here is a pic of my 125 gallon without the rhinoceros.

yes, please don't buy it until i test it for a while. i read a lot of info on it before i did(both pro and con) bob goemens from fama liked it but i am not really too impressed with him anyway as he seems too keen to jump on the latest "better mouse trap". you don't have to get it yet as you have idiots like me that have an extra 60 bucks laying around(my local shop were fresh out of rio 2500's and i didn't want to pay the extra money for a hyper flow 17 that doesn't work) i am willing to give it a month, if it doesn't do anything positive, i will ask for my money back,if they don't refund it, then you guys will know, and these forums are very powerful.
IIRC, Bob Goemens is selling it, so of course he likes it.

It's great that da colts is doing a 'test' on it, but much more scientific testing was done by inland reef which shows that the EA does nothing. What da colts is doing is interesting, but is purely anecdotal in an uncontrolled environment without controls and cant be considered conclusive.
The EA is snake oil. It makes the classic claims of miracle products (which should tip us off right away), but even worse the 'science' behind it is bunk - far infrared emitting ceramics are simply bs as are their claims about magnetism. Not only doesn't the product do anything, it CAN"T do anything.
I am more interested in how they deal with da colts when he returns the 'product' - will they give him grief about it? Will the actually give him his money back?
