Hi,

Is there any tang that comfortably fits in a 90 gal reef tank?
(48 long x 24 high x 18 wide).

Also, I'd love to keep some macro-algae in the tank (BTW, I'm sure that they will help a lot in preventing my DSB from getting filled with stuff), are there any tangs/algae combinations that would coexist? (Halimeda is pretty safe, right? Anything else (Hailmeda eats Ca with bread every morning)?)

Thanks,
Mihai

Get it small, 3" or so:
Yellow, scopas, kole. All those will be just fine. Even a purple will work.

Halimedia will suck the calcium out as fast as a SPS coral. Non of the tangs I have (Yellow, Kole, Sailfin) would touch it.

I have a Kole in my 90g. He is fat, fat, fat and eats everything algae related. I can't comment on Halimeda though, never had it.

PS. I love my Kole! He has really colored up since I've gotten him and his "pin stripes" have taken on a baby blue tone and stand out big time!

They look good. However I was thinking about a Paracanthurus hepatus (blue tang/hippo tang).
Is it growing too big?
