yesterday I found my emerald crab belly up between some rock. He seemed fine as I saw him eating earlier. No physical damage, water params are fine.

I did see a bristle worm so big last night that I jumped when the flash light came across it. It was almost 1/2 inch wide. When are these things too big? Could it have done something to the crab?

Actually I am suprised that I didn;t have more fatalities after changing everthing from a 55 to a 75 and upgrading the lights to 96w PC. Would that do something?

If there is I have not seen or heard from it. I did add ALOT of live rock, but the rick is from the LFS show tank and had been in there for years. I did find both a brittle star and a serpent star and two peppermint shrimp so anything is possible.

Quick side story... When my LFS close the other week, I bought one of her 75g showtanks with rick sump and all... I took everything from my 55 and combined them all. Thisis the second week for my new system. I sure hope I can sell the 55 system soon, so my mother-in-law get of my back about having more fish tanks in the house than places to sit. (I don't think the lizard/frog tank should count... do you?)

Are you sure that it didn't just molt? Most crabs and shrimps hide allot after they molt because their new shell is not a hard as their old shell.

It was solid when I picked it out, it didn't fall apart at all. As a last ditch I gave it a good rattling before dropping it into the porceline coffin. It didn't fall apart at all.
