Oh yea the closed loop. The manifold is bigger than I had planned. I will be swinging the eldows inward with one high and one low.

Ah so your wife finally decided on a spot for your tank  Looks great Wazzel. How long till the water goes in? Or more likely, what still has to done?

Not really. She wants it out the house. It is not what she expected, but it is exactelly what I explaind it would be. Long story.

I have to finish the plumbing and redo my sump. The silicone never took and it got dropped at my friends house. Need to get a new tank for the sump and put the baffles in. Also, I need to make a couple of brackets for my VHO bulbs. Thats the short list.

Considering I had a 110 before you would figure she would be happy?

I think the problem is that you took out the 110 before you set up the 60. If you still had that one going she might be more inclined to take to the 60. You could try to pretend that you changed your mind.
say "Hun I've been thinking that I'd like something bigger then 60 gallons. What do you think about 250?" If you act serious about it for a few days or a week and then "change" your mind back to the 60 she'll probibly let you put it where you want

Considering how long it has been in the house and how little I do on it from time to time. I do not see it as a compatition for her time. She just saw something different than what I was explaining.

Either that or she just like bitching at me.

Bethany, I just noticed you are a female. Hope my rant did not make me look like a complete arse.

BTW. I got a net 10g for my sump and put the baffles in over the week end. I started plumbing under the tank. No pics, but it is really not exciting.

Nah. You don't look like a behind to me. The opposite sex can be a complete pain in the ass from time to time. Trust me, I understand

Glad to hear things are moving forward. I'm in the process of upgrading some crap too. Hopefully we can both have a show and tell this weekend or the next :D

Did you two decide on a spot for the tank?

I hate to sound like a complete A-hole here... but how different can you expect a 2'x2'x2' plastic box to be?

Sounds like she's being difficult just to be difficult.

I hate that.

Peace,

Chip

Chip I missed the unedited version. She can be a pain. Just to shed some light with out getting in to details. We had a big fight about a month ago that is still going on. So she is not being helpful on anything.

Beth we have not, but I have and that is the end of it. I am tired of her dragging her feet. I have to run power to the new location, which is a good thing since my tank will be on it's very own 20amp breaker. The breaker is already installed in the pannel and the wire is in my attic. I just have to drop it down the wall and add the plug.

Tacket that was my point. It is going to take up 4sq ft no matter how tall it is.

Update...

I dry fitted the drain to the sump, nothing major but a step forward. I'm trying to do something every night. Tonight it will be either the CL suction or the top off line and float valve.

ok just to sound liek a newb, what does the closed loop really do, or just try to get water that is in one place to another, with maybe a chiller or something onthe loop. is that basicly it, and has there been any thing to show this is a good pratice? besides just more water movement?

not to my knowledge. Im sure you could put a chiller or UV on a closed loop, but just a good way to provide watermovement without a nasty lookin powerhead in the tank.

Just a way to move water without the power heads. I have seen chillers and such powered off of closed loops before.
