Ok, so call me crazy, but I want to swap my SW 29G bedroom tank out with my 37g FW living room tank. I mean I want the 37 to be SW. I know it still isn't an ideal size, but its the best I have right now.

I have a game plan to do this.. so thats not a problem (yet). My question is about my 37g tank. It is an eclipse tank (your familiar with the type.. everything included in the hood). I was wondering if anyone had dealt with this tank in SW before. The hood is cool with all the filtering included, but it only allows limited access to the back. Anyone ever mod these hoods?

1) I guess Im just looking for ideas for the eclipse tank to make it SW friendly.

2) Anyone done a swap out like this before? Any been there done that wisdom?

BTW.. the SW tank is only a few weeks old.. so nothing is reallllly established yet.. just a few damsels.. a cleaner shirmp and a little LR.

Thanks for the advice guys...
PS dont be a butt and say, "Get a bigger tank" :)

THANKS

Have you ever dosed your FW tank with any copper based meds? Some reef animals can not survive with too much copper in thier environment.

I've always used hospital tanks to med. About the only thing I've treated an entire tank for was Ick..I don't think there would be a problem with this particular med though.

Thanks for the heads up! Good thinking!

Eclipse systems are pretty nice, but totally unscalable. Don't like the light? Tough! Want more water flow? Tough!

They *do* work as salt, though, and rather well. Don't expect to do a whole lot of corals though - about the only thing we have in our Eclipse 30 gallon display in the store are some discosoma mushrooms. They do exceptionally well, but they're right at the very top of the tank, and not even very present where the glass crossbrace filters some light out.

I'm thinking of taking off the hinged back door on the top of the system. This would allow me to do a lot of HOT things.
