My Perculas are laiding eggs right now. I didn't want this to happen now. I order the book on breeding clowns but didn't get it yet. I set up a 20 gal and been running for 3 weeks now with live rocks just for them. The problem is this is my 58 gal that they laid they eggs. I know this will be a wash out but should I remove the eggs. Their are other fish in that tank. Any advise...here are some pictures.......http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v505/ ... las016.jpg

Forget about it this time, just leave the eggs in there. Read the book you bought and read as much online as you can. Set the equipment up for raising the fry and make sure everything is running smoothly. Then worry about trying to raise them. In the mean time, they will just be a good feed for your fish and corals.

Very cool that they're laying eggs! I would leave them where they are. I suspect this will not be the last time they will do this, so you'll have an opportunity in the future, when you're ready.

I have a friend who successfully reared clownfish fry. He let the parents tend the eggs until about a day before they hatched, then he'd move them to a rearing tank where he fed them rotifers, then live artemia nauplii and eventually weaned them onto prepared foods.

You should have a week to 10 days to prepare or as suggested, prepare and wait for the next clutch.

Very nice firefishpat.

They will lay eggs again, don't worry, you will have a chance to raise them. Just leave the eggs in there, the clownfish will get some good practice tending the eggs until they hatch.

Just keep doing things the same as you are doing, and your clowns should lay eggs over and over again.

once you have a mated pair, they will repeat mating until one day you are overwhelmed with hundreds of clown fish from a few weeks old to a couple months old......... if you done it right.......

These guys are right. My ocellaris lay new eggs every three weeks like clockwork. You've got plenty of time. Let this one go and finish setting up your system so that next time, the fry have a better chance of survival.
