I`ve been doing a few upgrades on my tank and WOW,what a difference. One thing I did was get more water turn over with some better pumps. Now my hang on overflow makes a heck of a noise every few seconds(like a flushing sound)and seems to dump a bunch of air into the sump when it makes this noise. It`s a duel overflow supposedly rated for up to a 300g tank. It`s on a 125g.I`ve put 2 Via Aqua 4900 for return in the sump. They`re rated at 951gph at 4foot head pressure.I`m probably close to that. The tank is looking great but the noise.....THE NOISE!
Am I pushing too much water through?Anybody else been here?Anything to do?

Have you tried the airline trick?

Put a piece of airline down the overflow pipe a few inches and this will leave area for the air to excape or whatever and silence it.

Thanks for the help. That trick with the tubing definitely slowed the flushing way down.I read the link that Righty sent and no doubt thats the problem.I think I got an idea for a good easy fix for this.If it works I`ll let you know.
