What type remote thermometer do you use?
Where do I get one?
And if it not too much to ask, how much way yours?

The ones I have seen range from $6 to hundreds. Who do you trust?

I completely agree with the thought of using two or more undersized heaters to prevent losses from a heater not turning on or one not turning off.

A controller is an even better safety net.

The WON titanium heaters have a reputation for getting stuck on or stop working. I have a WON 500W titanium heater and it stopped heating after a few months. It did an awesome job of heating while it worked. The tank temp stayed rock solid. I had it on a 120 gallon with another 40 gallons or so in the sump. The good thing in my case is that it stopped working altogether instead of getting stuck on and cooking the tank. As mentioned by another poster, a lot of people use a seperate temp controller with heaters as a safety net. This is a good ideas with the WON's.

WON heaters have a 1 year warranty so save your receipt if you get one.

I like Ebo Jager. I havent had any problems with them failing.

I recieved a gift certificate to a LFS that paid for my heater. I bought a titanium WON. They had Ebo, but were temporarily out of stock for the wattage I wanted. That made the choice simple.

Here's to a warm winter. Thanks for all the imput!
