I recently picked up a male Watanabei Angel, last Wednesday to be exact, and it hasn't eaten a thing yet. Can anyone give me a tip to get this fish to eat? Thanks.

I've never kept one, but did a bunch of research on the genus. They're zooplanktivores, so I would offer small, live prey. Try baby brine shrimp, adult brine shrimp, small ghost shrimp, and mysid shrimp. Even frozen mysid shrimp might work. Sometimes these guys just aren't decompressed right and they might never eat.

Good luck!

Depends on the origin Matt, most the time, decon isn't the problem, it's not eating for an upwards of three weeks that really gets it ;) I see them starved all the time when exporters are "stuck" with them too long.

I had a female, and it was a wonderful fish. Ate anything right of the bat though, so I guess I'm not much help here.

I also have a female and see is a great fish, eat's everything and is always out swimming. The male is very shy and rarely shows himself. Where can I get live mysid?
Thanks
