elegance dont like a lot of light. i read they come from murky lagoons so i would say medium light and current is best. they shouldnt be blasted with water but enough to make the tentacles sway.

what kind of leather coral? there are all sorts and some like a lot of light and current while others dont. i think they are more forgiving and will adapt.

FWIW, I had a Sinularia that coped very well with being the nearest coral to a Tunze Stream. Stood straight up and had great polyp extension. A lot of the leathers come from pretty shallow water where the surge is pretty strong so develop pretty good resilience. If you're planning on keeping the Elegance (which as fungia wrote, come from lagoons) most leathers will however also thrive in only moderate flow.

Also, I believe that Elegance will cope with reasonably bright light (probably can live with 175W MHs in a not overly shallow tank), because, coming from lagoons, they're often found in pretty shallow water. The key, as with all corals, is careful acclimatisation.

LPS + Softy's are a delecate mix, watch out for nematodes, and get a small leather so if they do have a fight at least the elegant will win, allthough saying that they are probably the most aggressive coral out there, and they get HUGE.
