I have these two Maxi Jet 900's that have almost completely stopped moving water. What is the best way to dissolve anything in them that is taking away from their efficiency.
Have you taken them apart to see if anything is wrapped around the impeller? That usually does the trick.
I take them apart and wash the impeller real good, usually running water and rubbing it with my fingers does the trick, but if there is any kind of calcium build up you can soak it in vinegar and water.
Then clean out the place the impeller fits into, I use a twisted up piece of paper towel, and rinse it out in running water.
Ditto what Laura said. I just want to add that if you put the vinegar in microwave for a few seconds (try not to boil it, since it will make your house smell a bit), the calcium deposite will comes off quicker.
I fil a new tupperware container with water and vinegar, then let the powerhead run in it for like 10-15 minutes. Wipe it down afterwards, good as new.
