can anyone hepl id this eel for me. i bought it for my species only tank and its most likely a JUV, cuz its about 8 in long. im pretty sure its not a snowflake, some said a chainlink but i dont know, maybe cuz its so small? bought it for 10$, good price or no i dont know, but it was cheap to say the least.

My guess would be Echidna catenata, but I don't have my book on me at the moment. I'm fairly certain it's an Echidna sp. of some kind, if not catenata.

From that picture I would say that's an Echidna nebulosa ( Snowflake Moray ).

ive gotten that idea but i looked at some pics online of that species and mine doesnt seem to have so many prominent black markings as the
Echidna catenata. do they get progressively darker as they get older??

E. nebulosa? Looks very different from any one I've ever seen.

Correct. The coloration is variable within a theme - light background with darker mottling. Darkening as they get bigger.
